1. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
2. Tosupportandleadwith ahands-onapproach,the daily activities ofallsteel plantproductiondirect labor personnel.By communicating jobexpectations;planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.Coaching and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems,policies,and procedures; and to ensure scheduled production and all SafetyandQuality standards are met.

1. Provides trainingand coachingto employees as needed.Regularlyupdatingthe training matrix.

1. Tosupportandtake partinthe Inventory Control Process

1. Toleadthe shiftandproductionline processesfor Steel.

1. Reviewand approveapproveemployeetimecards. Along with closelymonitoringthe attendance policy system.

1. Embrace thePandrolcore values. Disseminating the culture though out the team.

1. KEY AREAS OF ACTIVITY AND RESPONSIBILITY

1. Ability tocompile,readand interpretproductionreports.

1. Reviews production schedules and work ordersand assigns duties to workers according to order priorities. 

1. Responsible for shift scheduleof temporary and full-time employees,including workstation assignments/ rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignments, backup for absent employees and shift rotations.

1. Holdsshift startandchangeovermeetings with employees for improved communication.Along with leading the tier 1 meetings between operations,maintenance,and quality.

1. Attendsmeetings as needed.Schedules and conducts shift meetings as needed and communicates regularly with other Shift supervisors,the Plant Manager,Maintenance and Quality Departments.

1. Attend training for self-development, improvement, and skill strengthening as required or needed.

1. To conduct employee performance reviewsandpromote continuous improvement

1. Initiates and fosters a spirit ofcooperatingwithin and between departments.Working veryclosely with the maintenance and quality departments.

1. Initiates and verifies that 5Simprovements are beingimplemented andmaintained.

1. Confers with management and other supervisors to resolve production issues.

1. Ensuressafety requirements are met by enforcing the use of personal protective equipment and requiring team members to keep work areas clean andorganizedaccording to Lean Manufacturing.Reports near misses, injuries andrequiredfirst aid toSafetyspecialist.

1. Performs other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.

1. Occasionally work weekends with the team on non-operating tasks.

1. SKILLS NEEDED

1. Minimum of5years of experiencein manufacturing processes,procedures,and machinery.

1. Well versed withLean manufacturing knowledge. Including, but not limited to: 5S, Tier meetings,andproblem - solvingmethodologies (4D, 8D, A3).

1. Manual dexterityrequiredfor operating machinery and computers.

1. High school diploma or GED.

1. Motivated, detail oriented, and self-directedand must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily without reasonable accommodation/supervision.

1. Strong leadership,planningand organizational skillsessential.

1. Basic computer skillsincluding familiarity with MS Office and Windows.

1. Ability to work with employeesin a team environment.

1. Ability to communicate andcomprehendthe English language, both verbally and written.

1. Ability to lift,up to 50 pounds andstand for prolonged periods of time.

1. Ability to train all levels of the organization, across all shifts of operation.

1. Keep abreast of the latest trends/developments in Quality, Safety, and Environmental practices through regular formal trainingprovided byPandrol.

1. MEASUREMENT

Primary measures of successful performance will be: 

1. Achieve production goals of shift ina timelyandaccuratemanner.

1. Regularly pass 5S assessments by site leaders.

1. Pass LEAN manufacturing assessments byGlobalOPEX team.

1. Quality goals, on time delivery,and safety goalsas set by company policies and management team

1. Receive zero notices of violation or administrative consent ordersregardingenvironmental, legal, and regulatory requirements.
