Help

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization
• Assess the patient by collecting pertinent data or information, including the triage of patients based on the five-level triage system to prioritize patients that require more immediate care.
• Provides urgent and emergent care to patients with acute and/or chronic medical, surgical, and psychiatric conditions.
• Demonstrates expanded knowledge base of the nursing process in the care of assigned patients
• Uses assessment data to determine diagnoses, problems, or other concerns
• Identifies expected outcomes to develop a collaborative and individualized plan for each patient.
• Implement plans, including care coordination, health teaching, and health promotion
• Evaluates the progress toward achieving the expected goal and outcomes and adjusts the plan as necessary.
• Independently plans and delivers technically competent care to patients with complex needs in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice.
• Models' high reliability principles and I CARE values to improve patient outcomes.
• Recognizes ethical issues related to professional nursing practice and models appropriate action by providing and directing others in the provision of care following established policies and ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses
• Promotes collaborative behavior and team efforts. Is confident of abilities, effectively initiates solutions and, is alert to new opportunities, techniques, and approaches.

This position is eligible for EDRP, a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of your start date.
