Senior Trial Court Staff Attorney Location: TBD – Remote Eligible. The position also travels to other locations within the Judicial Circuit and requires onsite training. Effective immediately. General Description The essential function of this position is to assist the judiciary with case management, pending litigation, processing of criminal and civil appeals, and various other issues. The work involves significant interpretation and judgment of legal issues in criminal, civil, appellate, and administrative law. Responsibilities include drafting memoranda, opinions, and orders, conducting legal research, reviewing briefs and case files, and advising judges on pending litigation. Travel to other locations within the Judicial Circuit as needed. Qualifications Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Five years of legal practice or experience as a law clerk in an appellate or trial court. Membership in good standing in the Florida Bar within one year of hire. Valid Florida driver’s license. Ability to travel and participate in onsite training. Education and Certification Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school is required. Additional experience may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis. Compensation and Benefits Salary: USD $76,040.16 annually ($64,999.44 if less than 5 years of experience; $58,499.52 without professional certification). Full‑time position with benefits package and FRS retirement.
