As a Food Runner/Host/Support Person, you must be friendly, outgoing and possess good communication skills. A guest’s dinner and/or bar experience should be equally enjoyable and you play a major role in the overall picture because you represent the Front of the House by welcoming and warmly greeting guests on arrival. In addition, you manage the efficient and timely seating our guests. Remember, consistency is a key element in a positive experience. Your individual personality should shine through – use it to your advantage. You should be organized, able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure. Be guest sensitive and possess a sense of timing. Take pride in personal appearance and show dedication to your job. Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of your employment. Duties & Responsibilities Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival. When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant. When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in party. Call out name and number of party when tables become available. Provide guests with estimated waiting time. Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible. Seat guest guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations. Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server’s name. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness. Relay messages to servers and buspersons as needed. Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return. Expo Food to correct tables and guests. Learn the type of tacos and menu items that will go to each guest. Bag to-go food menu items for guests Clear tables as needed. No one under 18 years of age can touch alcoholic beverages at any time per ABC Law. Other duties as directed. Qualifications No previous restaurant experience required, but preferred. You must be able to work busy shifts, such as Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. (Shifts can include 12pm-8pm and 4pm-CLOSE) You must be energetic and speak to guests without hesitation. Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
