At Powers & Moon, LLC, we are dedicated to providing high-quality services to our health care provider clients to resolve medical claims. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Coordination of Benefits Manager t o join our team.

Position Summary

The Coordination of Benefits Manager plays a key role in all aspects of account management of denied and pended medical claims from our medical provider clients to make sure that our client’s bills are paid correctly by the proper carrier in the proper order. This position requires accurate and timely documentation, excellent communication skills and seamless service delivery between the provider, patients, attorneys and all medical insurance carriers.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a main point of contact for all COB (coordination of benefit) accounts
• Communicate with insurance carriers, attorneys, employers and patients to obtain billing updates and ensure that all billing requirements are communicated and met
• Assure all required documentation (work status reports, medical records, billing information) is accurate and delivered promptly
• Assist with follow up for resolution and payment of accounts
• Maintain and update internal systems with account  information and communications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree and preferred
• 2+ years experience in a medical office or medical setting required
• Knowledge of Coordination of Benefit rules, terminology, and processes
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage numerous accounts simultaneously
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation and coding
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• ABA paralegal certification a plus
