Our customer base is comprised of companies in the data center (our main focus), financial, computer service provision, and semiconductor manufacturing sectors LayerZero Power Systems is on a trajectory of sustained growth, with a loyal customer base of existing Fortune 100 customers and an expanding portfolio of new customers.The Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of inventory throughout assigned LayerZero manufacturing and warehouse facilities. This hands-on role performs scheduled and ad hoc cycle counts, verifies material quantities and locations, and documents inventory findings in accordance with the company's inventory control program.Reporting to the Plant Master Data Analyst (PMDA), the Cycle Counter investigates inventory discrepancies, identifies potential root causes, and communicates issues requiring adjustment, escalation, or corrective action. The position partners closely with Materials, Production, Receiving, Shipping, Purchasing, and other operational teams to ensure ERP records accurately reflect physical inventory.Primary Duties:Perform scheduled and ad hoc cycle counts in accordance with the facility's cycle counting program and assigned prioritiesPhysically count raw materials, components, work-in-process, and finished goods as assignedVerify item numbers, quantities, units of measure, labels, and storage locations during each countFollow established count procedures and maintain accuracy without disrupting production or warehouse flowSupport wall-to-wall physical inventories, annual inventory audits, and other inventory verification activitiesComplete assigned count work within established timelines while prioritizing accuracy over speedDiscrepancy Investigation & Resolution:Compare physical inventory to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central records and identify shortages, overages, and location discrepanciesInvestigate variances by reviewing locations, labels, recent material movement, and available transaction historyIdentify potential root causes such as incorrect transactions, misplaced material, labeling errors, duplicate locations, or process breakdownsRecount and validate findings before reporting a discrepancyDocument findings and communicate inventory issues requiring adjustment, escalation, or further investigation to the PMDASupport corrective actions and follow-up counts intended to prevent recurring inventory issuesInventory Location & Organization:Verify that inventory is stored in the correct location and is properly identified and labeledIdentify incorrect, duplicate, obsolete, or unauthorized inventory locationsHelp maintain inventory locations that are accurate, organized, easy to find, and easy to pickFollow FIFO practices where applicable and report material that appears aged, damaged, or improperly storedCommunicate housekeeping, labeling, location, or storage concerns to the appropriate operational teamERP & Documentation:Use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to review inventory information, assigned count activity, item history, and location dataUse handheld scanners, computers, and other inventory tools accurately and consistentlyMaintain complete and accurate documentation for all completed cycle counts and investigationsFollow established inventory adjustment workflows and provide supporting documentation for requested correctionsProtect the integrity and confidentiality of inventory records and company informationCross-Functional Support & Continuous Improvement:Communicate inventory concerns promptly and professionally to Production, Receiving, Shipping, Purchasing, Materials, and the PMDAAssist operational teams in locating materials and resolving inventory-related questionsIdentify process improvement opportunities that strengthen inventory accuracy, transaction discipline, labeling, and warehouse organizationParticipate in inventory cleanup, location validation, ERP data cleanup, and continuous improvement initiativesFollow standard work and provide practical feedback when procedures do not reflect actual operating conditionsSafety & General Support:Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentFollow all company safety policies, material-handling practices, and facility proceduresEscalate unsafe conditions, damaged material, or other risks identified during count activityPerform additional inventory-related duties and support other facilities or operational areas as assignedExperience & Skills:Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to accuracyAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while following established proceduresEffective written and verbal communication skillsComfort using handheld scanners, computers, and standard workplace technologyAbility to prioritize assigned work in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environmentAbility to work cross-functionally with Materials, Production, Receiving, Shipping, Purchasing, and other operational teamsPreferred Experience & Skills:Previous warehouse, inventory control, cycle counting, materials, or manufacturing experienceExperience using ERP or inventory management systemsExperience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business CentralExperience investigating inventory discrepancies or supporting physical inventoriesFamiliarity with FIFO practices, warehouse location systems, and inventory labeling standardsEducation:High school diploma or equivalentWhy Join Us?
