Nursing Assistant Inpatient- Oncology- PT

Marshfield Clinic – Archive is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our inpatient oncology team at Marshfield Children’s within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this part-time role, you will work closely with pediatric oncology nurses, providers, and multidisciplinary team members to deliver safe, family-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents receiving inpatient cancer treatment. You will assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding, toileting, mobility, and comfort measures, while carefully following care plans and infection control practices specific to immunocompromised patients. Under the direction of licensed nursing staff, you will obtain and record vital signs, intake and output, height and weight, and report any changes in patient condition promptly. You will help prepare rooms and equipment, support safe transport of patients, and maintain a clean, organized, and healing environment. This role plays a key part in supporting patients and their families through difficult and emotional experiences, offering empathy, clear communication, and reassurance. You will collaborate with nurses, physicians, child life, social work, and other team members to support holistic care, including assisting with comfort, positioning for procedures, and supporting play and developmental activities when appropriate. As part of a collaborative, patient-first culture, you will participate in ongoing education, competency training, and quality improvement efforts to enhance safety and outcomes on the oncology unit.
