Technician, Operations

Merck seeks a Downstream Processing Operations Technician for its Animal Health facility in De Soto, Kansas. The role involves large-scale antigen processing using fermentation and cell culture platforms, with emphasis on GMP compliance, aseptic handling, and continuous improvement in a safety-focused manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute downstream processing steps for antigen concentration using hollow fiber filtration systems
• Operate stainless-steel vessels and perform aseptic material handling and sampling
• Follow and comply with Manufacturing Directions, Standard Operating Procedures, and regulatory policies
• Maintain detailed, error-free documentation in accordance with GMP standards
• Contribute to daily production activities and schedule adherence within team environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 6+ months manufacturing environment experience
• Proficient computer skills and written/verbal communication
• Good Manufacturing Practices documentation knowledge
• Effective time management and ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience with GMP manufacturing, aseptic procedures, centrifuges, or hollow fiber filters (preferred)

Compensation: $48,600-$76,600 base
