Imagine starting your day at a Mazak, dialing in offsets for a first-piece that nails print on the first pass. Mid-morning, you pivot to an INDEX, streamline a fixture, and update the program to shave minutes off the cycle. By afternoon, you’re coaching a tender through a changeover on a Nakamura and recording production data in the ERP so the team can see wins in real time. That’s the rhythm here.

What you’ll do

1. Set up and operate CNC lathes/mills—Mazaks, Doosans, INDEX, and Nakamuras—making advanced adjustments to meet tight production specs.
2. Develop and maintain CNC programs, fixturing, tooling, and setup procedures to maximize repeatability and quality.
3. Diagnose and resolve difficult machine issues quickly to keep uptime high.
4. Own setups in your assigned area and assist operators/tenders throughout production.
5. Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, and gauges to confirm adherence to specifications.
6. Run first-article inspections; complete all quality and production paperwork; verify in-process checks by tenders.
7. Record material usage, adjustments, and output in ERP systems for accurate tracking.
8. Support operators and tenders with hands-on guidance, troubleshooting, and setup help.
9. Train operators/tenders on processes, procedures, and part-specific requirements to meet OTD and quality goals.
10. Implement and document continuous improvements that reduce setup time, increase rates, refine methods, and improve quality and safety.
11. Collaborate with Setup Technicians and Engineering to optimize programs and machine performance.
12. Maintain setup sheets, monitoring logs, and other process documentation.
13. Oversee scrap handling/documentation for assigned facilities.
14. Complete daily preventive maintenance and assist Maintenance in downtime reduction.
15. Follow safety protocols, use PPE, and keep the work area clean and organized.
16. Perform basic maintenance and help with advanced tasks as needed.
17. Float among CNC machines to balance workload and meet demand.
18. Partner with the Production Supervisor (direct) and Production Lead (indirect) for priorities and support.

Environment & physical expectations

Normal manufacturing conditions. Expect frequent lifts up to 50 lbs and occasional lifts up to 75 lbs. Regular hand/finger use plus moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping. Safety glasses and steel-toed footwear are required when operating around machinery.

Schedule & pay

• Full-time (40+ hours/week); typically Monday–Friday, about 8 hours/day.
• Occasional overtime, evenings, and weekends to meet business needs.
• Hiring pay range: $25–$37.50, depending on market conditions and your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and certifications.
• Bonus eligible: Currently in the Quarterly Bonus plan within the Individual Contributor tier.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• High School diploma/GED or significant, relevant experience.
• 5+ years operating CNC equipment across single- and multi-axis, single- and multi-turret platforms, including Mazaks, Doosans, INDEX, and Nakamuras.
• Skilled with micrometers, calipers, and gauges; comfortable with drills, screwdrivers, impacts, and other hand tools.
• Ability to read/interpret blueprints and part schematics; solid reading/writing and basic math; follow written and verbal instructions.
