Dining Commons Assistant Manager Position Title: Dining Commons Assistant Manager Location: Athens, Georgia FLSA: Non‑exempt Compensation: $19.19 per hour (approx.) Schedule: 40‑hour week, may include evenings and weekends. Weekend work is required. The Dining Commons Assistant Manager assists the manager in overseeing all aspects of food service operations in a large dining commons. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating food production, ensuring sanitation standards, and maintaining operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Assist in planning, organizing, and directing Food Services personnel in food production and service duties. Hold regular production meetings with staff to discuss operational matters. Assist in conducting regular sanitation inspection programs. Respond to customer satisfaction feedback and address issues as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned by the managing supervisor or Dining Operations Manager. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (other education and experience may be considered by HR). Knowledge of food‑service management procedures and practices. Knowledge of health and safety requirements applicable to large‑scale food service operations. Basic computer skills and familiarity with food production software. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for job‑related duties. Physical Requirements Lift up to 50 lb, push/pull items up to 30 lb. Operate in noisy, hot or cold environments; perform repetitive motions with wrists, arms, and shoulders. Ability to stand for prolonged periods and work in varying temperatures.
