Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position in Franklin, Indiana. This role involves providing direct patient care in a busy ER department with a focus on acute emergency situations. The ER handles a high volume of patients with diverse diagnoses, requiring skilled nurses to support the healthcare team during night shifts.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse, current BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, minimum of 2 years of recent ER experience. Proficiency in IV insertion, EKG rhythm interpretation, and managing common emergency diagnoses such as abdominal pain, altered mental status, chest pain, stroke, COVID-19, SOB, and moderate sedation.
• Preferred Qualifications: TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course).
• Additional Information: The ER department comprises 26 beds with three trauma bays and a treatment area. The team manages approximately 60 patients daily, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 to 4. The department operates with in-house security 24/7, and staff must be flexible to float when needed, primarily to patient sitters or medics. The unit employs Cerner electronic medical records and utilizes various respiratory therapies and telemonitoring. Orientation consists of 1-2 shifts with a preceptor. Punctuality and full commitment are essential.
