Job Description Job Description - GIB New York M&A Associate What will you do? Support the Investment Banking US M&A team by working closely with the M&A and Industry Banking Teams on deal execution and other business opportunities. Build financial models, perform valuation analysis, and prepare quantitative deal materials. Create pitch books and presentation materials for client meetings. Collaborate closely with Analysts and senior deal team members throughout the transaction execution process. Work with industry specialists to identify and evaluate new M&A opportunities. Proactively identify operational risks and control deficiencies in the business. Review and comply with firm policies applicable to business activities. Escalate risk events, control deficiencies, and compliance concerns to the manager and relevant risk/control functions in a timely manner. What do you need to succeed? Bachelor’s degree and MBA, MA or MS or equivalent with an emphasis in finance/accounting. Minimum of one year of Investment Banking experience; previous experience in the M&A space is highly desired. Solid understanding of capital markets and spreadsheet modeling. Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong knowledge of finance and accounting. Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and requests. Ability to take initiative and function independently, balanced with strong teaming skills. Strong written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills to maintain relationships at all levels. Must maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct. The expected salary range for this position is $175,000–$225,000, depending on factors such as experience, skills, registration status, market conditions, and business needs.
