Shipping Clerk

Shipping ClerkWe are hiring a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to support daily shipping operations in a fast-paced refrigerated warehouse environment. This position is responsible for processing shipping documentation, entering and tracking orders, preparing pick tickets and Bills of Lading, coordinating with warehouse and sales teams, and ensuring shipments are accurate and properly documented.The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with computer systems, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse administration, food production, or produce distribution is a plus.ResponsibilitiesProcess and maintain accurate shipping and order information in the warehouse/ERP systemEnter product receipts, shipments, and inventory activity into the systemMonitor orders throughout the day for new orders and changesGenerate and print pick tickets for warehouse personnelDistribute pick tickets and shipping paperwork to the appropriate warehouse teamsVerify pick tickets, tallies, and shipping documents for accuracyPrepare and organize Bills of Lading (BOLs) and supporting documentationEnsure paperwork is matched to the correct shipment and carrierMonitor trucks as they arrive and coordinate shipping documentationIdentify and communicate order discrepancies or variances to supervisorsMake revisions to orders, pick tickets, BOLs, and other shipping documents as neededCommunicate sales orders and purchase orders to warehouse personnelCoordinate shipment information and requirements with drivers and carriersWork with sales and internal teams to resolve order or shipping issuesReview customs documentation and communicate with customs brokers when necessaryProvide inventory information and documentation to warehouse personnelMaintain accurate shipping records and filing systemsProtect confidential company and personnel informationFollow all food safety, GMP, health and safety, SOP, and company proceduresPerform additional shipping and administrative duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required2–3 years of shipping, receiving, logistics, warehouse administration, or record management experience preferredExperience in the produce, food, manufacturing, or distribution industry is a plusExperience with ERP, WMS, or warehouse management software preferredExperience with FAMOUS® or similar ERP systems is a plusIntermediate Microsoft Office skillsStrong data entry and record-keeping abilitiesGood math, numerical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong follow-through and organizational skillsWorking ConditionsWork is performed in a refrigerated warehouse environment, generally 45–55°FWarehouse may be noisy due to packaging equipment and forklift trafficCombination of computer/office work and time spent in the warehouseAbility to sit and/or stand for extended periodsFrequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, reaching, and handling products or packagingAbility to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs., with regular lifting up to approximately 30 lbs.Schedule may vary based on business needs, so flexibility is required
