Contract Coordinator

Job Overview Administrative contract management work for a major operating division of a health or social service department or for a department with responsibility for managing all contracts including engineering and construction contracts department-wide or a comprehensive city-wide employee benefits program. Responsibilities Develop, coordinate, and monitor contract activities for the division or department. Develop, modify, and monitor contract processing procedures and activities; review contract requests and proposals. Serve as liaison between departmental staff, providers, and City agencies involved in contract development and approval. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with City officials, departmental administrators, and representatives of contracted agencies to secure cooperation and resolve contract problems. Supervise subordinate administrative, technical, or clerical personnel. Qualifications Civil Service Status: Presently employed by the City of Philadelphia with permanent Civil Service status and a Performance Rating of Satisfactory or higher. Education: Completion of a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college or university. Additional experience or industry‑recognized related certification may substitute for the required bachelor’s degree on a year‑for‑year basis. Experience: Two years of full‑performance level experience performing administrative or program analysis, budget analysis, or technical purchasing and contract compliance that has involved contract preparation and processing, or contract administration including reviewing contracts and departmental compliance plans. OR any equivalent combination of education and experience deemed acceptable by the Office of Human Resources. Physical and Medical Requirements: Ability to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions required of a position in this class. Transcript, Licenses, Registrations and Certification Requirements: Candidates must submit a copy of their official college or university transcript(s) indicating completion of the educational requirement and all required licenses, registrations or certifications at the time of application. Transcripts must indicate the appropriate degree. Candidates with a degree from foreign colleges or universities must submit proof of degree certified by a professional evaluation service.
