CMM Operator / Quality Inspector

Pay: $50.00/hour

\n

Weekly Per Diem: $1,190 for eligible travelers

\n

Travel Bonus: $500 one-time

About the Role

\n

We are seeking an experienced CMM Operator / Quality Inspector to inspect precision CNC-machined aerospace components and verify they meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality requirements.

\n

This is a hands-on inspection role focused on operating a CMM and running established PC-DMIS and/or CMM Manager programs . CMM programming experience is not required.

\n

\n

Job Highlights:

\n

\n
• Perform dimensional, physical, and visual inspections of aerospace components, machined parts, assemblies, and incoming materials.
\n
• Operate CMM equipment, set up parts, run existing inspection programs, and evaluate measurement results. CMM programming is not required.
\n
• Utilize Hexagon, Mitutoyo, and Wenzel CMM equipment with PC-DMIS or CMM-Manager software.
\n
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
\n
• Inspect incoming parts, raw materials, and components received from outside processing suppliers.
\n
• Review supplier certifications, inspection documentation, and outside processing requirements.
\n
• Identify and document nonconformances, maintain inspection records, and support First Article Inspections (FAI).
\n
• Collaborate with quality and manufacturing teams to ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards.
\n

Qualifications:

\n

\n
• Minimum 7–8 years of quality inspection experience required.
\n
• Hands-on CMM operating experience using PC-DMIS and/or CMM-Manager required.
\n
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering specifications, and GD&T.
\n
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and manual inspection tools.
\n
• Experience inspecting machined parts, assemblies, and aerospace components.
\n
• Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes, incoming inspection, and supplier documentation.
\n
• Ability to interpret inspection results and determine product conformance.
\n
• Strong shop mathematics, computer skills, and attention to detail.
\n
• Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection reporting preferred.
\n
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
\n
