Associate Pastor of Worship & Students

Church Overview West Side Baptist Church is a growing Southern Baptist church averaging 175–200 in weekly worship attendance, with a student ministry of approximately 30 students. We are seeking a mature, gospel-centered leader to oversee both worship and student ministry while helping fulfill the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ. Position Summary The Associate Pastor of Worship & Students will provide leadership for the worship ministry and oversee all aspects of the student ministry (grades 6–12). This individual will work closely with the Senior Pastor to cultivate Christ-centered worship, disciple students, equip volunteers, and support the overall ministry vision of the church. Qualifications Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ Affirmation of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 Clear call to ministry Experience leading worship vocally and instrumentally (guitar or piano proficiency preferred) Experience with Planning Center and ProPresenter Ability to lead students relationally and biblically Strong communication and organizational skills Preferred experience in church ministry leadership Ability to pass a background check Responsibilities Worship Ministry Plan and lead weekly worship services Coordinate worship teams, rehearsals, and scheduling Develop a blended/contemporary worship culture aligned with the church vision Work alongside the Senior Pastor in service planning Recruit and disciple worship volunteers Oversee sound, media, livestream, and presentation software Student Ministry Lead weekly student gatherings and Bible studies (Wednesday and Sunday nights) Disciple students through teaching, mentoring, and relationship-building Organize camps, retreats, mission opportunities, and events Equip and lead adult volunteers Maintain communication with parents Encourage students toward evangelism and church involvement General Expectations Support the ministries and vision of the church Participate in pastoral care and church outreach Fulfill assigned Sunday morning preaching duties on a rotating schedule Be active in the life of the church and community Maintain a consistent walk with Christ and biblical integrity Compensation Full-time salary package based on experience #J-18808-Ljbffr SBC Executive Committee
