role, you will be responsible for the service, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), installation, configuration, and technical support of fire alarm systems and integrated security systems, ensuring our clients across the North receive exceptional technical service and system reliability.You will receive comprehensive training on our range of products through our chosen manufacturers, industry-recognised training courses, and our in-house product training facility, supporting your continuous professional development.Fire Alarm Systems:Conduct servicing, PPM, and technical support on fire alarm systems including addressable and conventional panels across the North regionPerform routine maintenance, testing, and fault diagnosis on fire detection and alarm systems to ensure compliance with BS5839 standardsCommission fire alarm systems and carry out statutory inspections and compliance checksRespond to emergency callouts and provide reactive maintenance supportMaintain detailed service records, certification, and compliance documentationSecurity Systems:Install, configure, and commission integrated security systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and related technologiesPerform routine and reactive maintenance on security systems to ensure optimal performance and reliabilityConduct software updates, hardware upgrades, and comprehensive system diagnosticsConfigure and install remote signalling devices, commission systems, and fully test signalling to Alarm Receiving Centres (ARCs)OtherProvide expert technical support to clients on fire and security system issues across the Manchester and North regionDiagnose and resolve problems remotely or on-site, ensuring customer satisfaction and minimal downtimeDeliver professional service on planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits and emergency calloutsProvide end-user training on the effective operation and maintenance of fire and security systemsMaintain accurate and detailed records of system configurations, installation procedures, service histories, and troubleshooting activitiesComplete service reports, certification, and compliance documentation promptly and thoroughlyKeep meticulous records demonstrating attention to detail, quality, and customer service excellenceComfortable being part of a team, offering support and encouraging attitudeWork closely with colleagues, project managers, clients, and suppliers to deliver tailored, integrated solutionsParticipate in on-call rota to provide responsive emergency supportProvide occasional coverage in other areas within the North region, which may require overnight stays when necessaryEnsure all work complies with relevant health and safety legislation, industry standards (including BS5839, BS8494), and company policiesStay current with emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and best practices in fire and security engineeringWhat We're Looking ForEssential Skills & Experience:Fire Systems:Proven and demonstrable experience in fire alarm systems maintenance gained over a number of yearsComprehensive knowledge and understanding of BS5839 standards and their practical applicationExperience servicing and maintaining both addressable and conventional fire alarm systemsSecurity Systems:Proven experience installing, configuring, and maintaining security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion detection)Strong technical competence in networking protocols, hardware installation, and fault diagnosisProficiency in security protocols including TCP/IP, SSL, AES, and relevant signalling standardsGeneral Requirements:Full UK Driving Licence (essential)Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, colleagues, and suppliersAbility to provide professional service demonstrating meticulous attention to detail, quality, and customer careCapable of working independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a teamReliability and punctuality—essential qualities for this roleDetail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesHighly Desirable:FIA (Fire Industry Association) qualifications or equivalent fire alarm trainingRelevant professional certifications (e.g., ECS/CSCS cards, NSI/SSAIB accreditation, Certified Security Systems Professional, or (e.g., 30 minutes each way)Overtime Opportunities: Available by agreement—paid at time and a half (Monday–Saturday) and double time (Sundays and Bank Holidays)Professional Development: Access to
