Our vision is to mitigate gigatons of CO2 emissions per year by deploying the Joule Hive™ at every industrial furnace, turbine, boiler, and kiln.As a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer, you will lead the design of the power electrical system for the Joule Hive™ thermal battery products. You will play a key role in ensuring the electrical system and associated controls can meet cost, timeline and requirements. You will report directly to the VP of Engineering.What You'll DoLead the design of the Megawatt-scale electrical system and associated controls for the Joule Hive™ Thermal Battery and subsequent products/projects.Lead the development of electrical analysis/simulation methodologies to support system design.Manage and review work from contractors working on electrical and controls system design, fabrication and installation.Collaborate with the rest of the design team to enable an optimal design that meets requirements.Keep up with the latest tools and programs; perform technical research and self-training as needed.Perform site-specific electrical system studies and designs with customers to enable project executionLead hiring, training and mentoring junior engineersSupport on-site system installation and commissioning as necessaryWhat You'll BringBachelor's degree in electrical engineering with at least seven years of electrical system design and deployment experience.At least 3 years of experience developing, evaluating and deploying large medium voltage (10+ kV) electrical power systems (switch gears, medium voltage drives, etc.)At least 3 years of experience creating electrical diagrams (wiring, SLD, three-line diagrams, etc.).Professional Engineering license in electrical engineering in a plus.Experience designing and developing power electronic equipment and their associated controls from scratch is a plus.Experience devising creative design solutions without losing focus on the defined scope and timeline.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsOrganization & detail-orientationA collaborative, highly adaptable spirit, and a love of challenging assumptions.What We OfferCompetitive compensation package, including equity optionsMedical, Dental & Vision Insurance401(k) with 4% matching12 weeks of fully paid parental leave, with an additional two weeks for birthing parents20 days of flexible vacation days annuallyA minimum of 10 days of paid company holidaysAccess to commuter benefitsAccess to a Health Savings Plan with company contributionsWhat We ValueAs a growing startup, we value executing through uncertainty and moving toward the problem.
