Company Overview Bearing Point Properties (BPP) is a vertically integrated multifamily real estate platform based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, operating across Louisiana and the Gulf South. Bearing Point is made up of affiliated operating entities and a real estate holding company that owns several underlying assets. BPP currently has active multifamily development and construction projects and manages a rapidly growing multifamily portfolio. Position Summary The Controller is the senior accounting leader for the Bearing Point Properties platform, with full ownership of financial reporting, multi-entity consolidation, and investor reporting across all entities. This is a newly restructured role being built to scale with BPP’s active development pipeline, its in-house construction company, and its growing management portfolio. The Controller will work directly with ownership and is expected to build and lead an accounting team as the organization grows. Key Responsibilities Summarized Own monthly/quarterly close and consolidation across all entities, the holding company, and individual properties. Lead annual budgeting and rolling cash flow forecasting for entities, properties, and lease-ups. Own capital account tracking, waterfall calculations, and distribution processing for outside investor capital. Serve as the primary financial point of contact for investors and lenders, including audit and covenant compliance. Hire, train, and lead accounting staff as the team is built out, and support ownership on special projects as needed. Construction & Development Accounting Oversee job costing, WIP, and percentage-of-completion accounting for BPP’s active development and construction pipeline. Help build out construction accounting infrastructure as BPP’s in-house construction company scales. Oversee property-level accounting and reporting for a growing multifamily portfolio. Maintain HUD-compliant books and support HUD audit preparation for HUD-regulated properties. Treasury, Payroll & Benefits Administration Manage banking relationships, cash management, and company payroll, including 401(k) and benefits administration. Coordinate annual audits and tax return preparation with outside CPA firms and ensure GAAP-compliant internal controls. What You Will Bring Required Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA strongly preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity consolidation. Real estate, construction, and/or property management industry experience. Experience with partnership/investor accounting — capital accounts, waterfalls, and distributions. Strong Excel skills; comfortable working directly with ownership in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience within a vertically integrated development / construction / property management platform. Experience with construction job costing or HUD/affordable housing accounting. Working knowledge of Procore, Resman, Entrada, and/or Yardi. Why Bearing Point Properties?
