Accounts Payable Clerk

As our Accounts Payable Clerk, you will help protect the organization’s financial integrity by ensuring invoices, payments, payroll, reconciliations, and grant-related expenses are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with funding requirements.What You Will DoReview, verify, enter, and process vendor invoices, check requests, reimbursements, ACH payments, and electronic transfersMatch invoices to purchase orders, contracts, approvals, and supporting documentationMonitor payment deadlines, reconcile vendor statements, and resolve discrepanciesMaintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready financial recordsAssist with journal entries, bank reconciliations, financial reports, and month-end and year-end closingReview and submit biweekly payroll while ensuring timecards are complete and accurateWork with the payroll provider to resolve reporting and payroll-related issuesSupport audits and ensure compliance with GAAP, grant requirements, and OMB Uniform GuidanceProtect the confidentiality of all financial and employee informationWhat Success Looks LikeInvoices, check requests, and reimbursements are processed within five business daysMonthly reconciliations are completed by the tenth of each monthFinancial data is entered with at least 99% accuracyDocumentation is complete, organized, and audit-readyGrant and internal control requirements are consistently metVendors and staff receive timely, professional supportWhat You BringBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field requiredCPA designation preferredFive years of accounting experienceKnowledge of nonprofit accounting, GAAP, payroll, and grant compliance preferredStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExceptional attention to detail and sound professional judgmentAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet firm deadlinesImpeccable integrity, confidentiality, and accountabilityA positive, collaborative approach and commitment to CVI’s mission of serving VeteransThis is an opportunity to bring purpose to your accounting career.
