Theatre Adjunct Faculty

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide student instruction from a Christian worldview for undergraduate courses in theatre. Advise students on academic matters, and perform service duties as needed within the department, division, or academic school. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach assigned course (including class preparation, grading, and other related teaching activities). Support activities related to the University, academic school, division, and department. Maintain regular posted office hours to be available to students. Affirm the religious beliefs of BJU to students and student affiliates. Some evening/weekend production work expected REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Must have practical theatre experience in directing and one or more of the following fields: acting, playwriting, design, stage movement/combat, or stage management. Proficient oral and written communication skills Demonstrate effective classroom and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrate organizational abilities in teaching and classroom management Must value the collaborative nature of the theatre experience Possess and communicate a Biblical worldview and integrate biblical principles into subject matter Professional in appearance and presentation Exemplify a biblical role model for students and colleagues Master's degree in teaching field required Terminal degree preferred Teaching experience preferred An applicant must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
