System Architect, Distinguished Technologist, HPC & AI This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office. Responsibilities Develop strategy and technology roadmaps for electrical hardware design and development engineering across the Global Business Unit and company at large. Work with customers and HPE solution architects to develop bid responses and architectural proposals to support those bids and to interface back to the engineering teams developing the platforms to provide appropriate guidance. Provide consultation, design input, and feedback for new product development and design reviews across multiple organizations and architectures. Guide and mentor less‑experienced staff members and participate in selection of future technical leaders. Education and Experience Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering. Typically 10+ years experience. Knowledge and Skills Industry expert in development of electronic hardware. Experience with HPC and AI systems. Experience with high‑speed interconnects that support HPC and AI systems (Infiniband, Cray Slingshot, Ethernet). Familiarity with the software used on HPC and AI systems (schedulers, MPI software, etc.). Familiarity with AMD and Nvidia architectures, including their software stacks (ROCM and CUDA). History of innovation with multiple patents in electronics and hardware design. Outstanding analytical and problem‑solving skills. Experience in overall architecture of electronic hardware for products and solutions. Designing and integrating electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithms into overall architecture. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and the local language. Excellent customer interface skills. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior organizational levels. Compensation Annual salary USD 161,000 – 389,500 in Texas.
