Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter / Leadman to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong carpentry skills, leadership abilities, and a solid understanding of residential and light commercial construction. This position is responsible for performing skilled carpentry work while leading small crews, coordinating daily job site activities, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise laborers and subcontractors on assigned projects.
• Perform skilled carpentry work including framing, siding, trim, cabinetry, decks, roofing, drywall, and finish carpentry.
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Coordinate daily work activities with project managers and superintendents.
• Ensure projects meet quality standards, building codes, and safety requirements.
• Train and mentor apprentices and entry-level workers.
• Monitor material usage and communicate material needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce company safety policies.
• Complete punch-list items and quality-control inspections.
• Assist with scheduling and workflow management to maintain project timelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of residential or commercial construction experience.
• Minimum 2 years of crew leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of framing, roofing, siding, remodeling, and finish carpentry.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
• Proficiency with construction tools and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 75+ pounds and perform physically demanding work.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
• Experience in disaster recovery or insurance restoration projects.
• Knowledge of Georgia building codes.
• Equipment operation experience (skid steer, mini excavator, lifts, etc.).
