Registration Specialist

Location FHW Hospital, 300 W. Ottley Avenue, Fruita, CO 81521, USA Overview Family Health West is a 25‑bed critical access hospital located in Fruita, CO, providing a range of inpatient, outpatient, and specialty services. Essential Functions Always conduct themselves in a professional manner and maintain patient, resident, and employee privacy and confidentiality. Maintain reliable and punctual attendance, arriving on schedule each day. Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate. Participate as a team member and be accountable for own work responsibilities. Have basic knowledge of health insurance. Be detail oriented and task driven. Serve as backup for the Hospital Receptionist as needed. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure proper billing for services. Prepare patient packets for scheduled appointments. Maintain accurate and current patient orders. Accept and process all forms of payments. Uphold facility policies and procedures. Clean and sanitize office supplies and workstations. Complete and release medical records as needed. Maintain accurate and current patient images within EMR (e.g., driver’s licenses, insurance cards, POAs). Greet and assist patients, family members, vendors, visitors, and employees by directing them to the appropriate department or person. Deliver flowers and mail to patient rooms. Answer and direct incoming phone calls to the appropriate person or department. Distribute mail to the appropriate FHW mailboxes. Provide clerical assistance to other departments as directed by the supervisor. Assist other departments based on skill assessment as directed by the supervisor. Maintain and balance the cash box. Maintain the front desk, mailroom and lobby area, ensuring all areas are well kept. Maintain the All House calendars. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Healthcare experience preferred. No professional license or certification required. Work Hours & Compensation Core hours: Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 6:30 pm. Wage range: starts at $18.55 per hour, increasing with experience.
