Speech Language Pathologist SLP - California
Empower Communication Across the Bay in Beautiful California – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine a career that allows you to give voice to purpose — quite literally! As a Speech Language Pathologist serving the dynamic community of San Francisco, you won't just treat communication and swallowing disorders; you'll play an essential role in unlocking potential, restoring confidence, and fostering human connections. From toddlers delighting in their first words to seniors regaining their independence, your impact will be felt across all generations.
This position offers a unique chance to work with a diverse population throughout various life stages in a setting that harmoniously combines outpatient therapy with the occasional need for inpatient care. Whether your passion lies in pediatric language development, adult neurogenic communication challenges, or geriatric cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, here you will find both fulfillment and flexibility.
Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessments as well as observational techniques.
Craft individualized treatment strategies that cater to both short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
Deliver personal speech therapy sessions concentrated on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to form cohesive care plans.
Educate patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond the clinical setting.
Assist with infrequent inpatient therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout the treatment process.
Document patient progress accurately and promptly in compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
Remain engaged with advancements within the field through ongoing education and professional collaboration.
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet certified by ASHA.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for diverse age groups, alongside a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, their families, and various healthcare teams.
Capacity to tailor therapy techniques to accommodate varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong analytical thinking and clinical problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with electronic medical records and compliance with documentation requirements.
Competitive salary based on experience.
Flexible scheduling options promoting a healthy work-life balance and diverse caseloads.
Opportunity to specialize in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Paid time off (PTO) along with holiday compensation.
Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits.
Financial support for continuing education and professional growth.
A collaborative, team-focused environment dedicated to high-quality care and continual learning.
In this role, you'll not only offer speech therapy services; you'll also become part of a community-oriented mission aimed at restoring voices, nurturing communication, and creating moments of genuine joy through the essential human experiences of understanding and being understood.
Here, you will work alongside healthcare professionals who treat one another with the same care they provide to their patients, all in an atmosphere that cultivates collaboration over competition. Each patient carries a unique narrative, and we trust you to help craft how their stories unfold.
Living in San Francisco envelops you in a lifestyle where innovation meets the warmth of community. Renowned for its stunning views, groundbreaking culture, and rich history, it is a city that welcomes individuals from all walks of life and crafts a wonderful balance between nature, excitement, and professional opportunity.
In your free time, indulge in the diverse culinary scene—from gourmet dining to casual waterfront eateries, coffee shops to bustling farmers' markets. The vibrant atmosphere is experienced in everything from art installations to live music that fills the air on nearly every corner. Outdoor enthusiasts will find their haven in parks, coastal trails, and the iconic Golden Gate, where breathtaking scenery is just a stroll away.
Moreover, the financial and professional benefits extend beyond lifestyle — a thriving job market characterized by no state income tax, enhanced career pathways, and unique growth opportunities make this an exciting place to plant your roots and watch them flourish.
Whether you are just embarking on your professional journey or you are a seasoned practitioner ready for a new challenge, this environment provides the perfect backdrop for both personal and professional growth.
We are on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist whose dedication is driven not only by outcomes but also by genuine empathy. Someone who observes a quiet child and envisions a vivid world of self-expression; who hears the hesitant speech of a stroke survivor and recognizes the fire of determination within.
You could be a pediatric-focused practitioner eager to enlarge your expertise to include adult services, or a neuro-centric clinician looking to blend early intervention into your practice.
Regardless of your specialization, if you are prepared to serve from the heart and lead with skill, we are excited to embrace you into our team.
If you believe that speech is more than a series of sounds and therapy encompasses more than simple tasks — that building trust precedes achieving goals, and laughter is as crucial as language — then this could be the pivotal chapter of your career's story.
Join us in a community that values communication, connection, and the bravery it takes to begin anew. Apply now to lend your voice to our team and assist others in finding theirs.
