Transportation Project Manager

HDR Engineering seeks an Idaho Transportation Project Manager to plan, design, and support construction of interstates, highways, urban streets, intersections, pedestrian, and bicycle projects across Idaho. Responsibilities Develop and manage project planning and design work from proposal through final plans, specifications, and estimates. Interface with clients and lead client development to expand transportation practice in Idaho. Involved in planning, including corridor, safety, long‑range, system‑wide, policy, and active transportation. Manage, lead, or support interdisciplinary teams (engineering, public involvement, environmental services, planning, etc.). Participate in reviews with governing agencies for compliance. Coordinate workload through project development, ensuring documents are completed on schedule and within budget. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing and leading projects and teams with local agencies or governments. Experience leading teams that use Microstation with InRoads or OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD with Civil3D, or similar CAD software. Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project. Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills. Collaborative team environment, high‑quality work, and outstanding client service. Enjoy mentoring and teaching other staff. Willing to lead in a team environment. Comfortable with minimal oversight. Active participation in an employee‑owned culture. Passionate about engineering and community service. Existing relationships with ITD, LHTAC, Highway Districts, and cities throughout Idaho. Reside in or willing to relocate to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, for local office work and client meetings. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering. 7 years of related experience. Minimum 2 years of project management experience. Professional Engineer (PE or equivalent) license. MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience plus). Demonstrated leadership skills. Commitment to active participation in employee‑owned culture.
