Quality Engineer (Supplier Quality Focus) Location: Chandler, Arizona Reports To: Director of Quality U.S. Citizenship Requirement: Due to U.S. Government contract requirements applicable to this position, only U.S. citizens are eligible for employment in this role. Position Summary We are seeking a Quality Engineer with a passion for supplier quality, continuous improvement and operational excellence. Initially focused on Supplier Quality, this role will build an agile Quality Engineering organization, translating strategic objectives into tactical execution, building strong supplier partnerships, leveraging analytics to proactively identify risk, and driving measurable business results. What You’ll Do Own supplier quality performance from qualification through production. Develop trusted supplier relationships while driving accountability for quality, delivery and continuous improvement. Lead supplier audits, source inspections and First Article Inspection activities. Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations to ensure effective technical flow‑downs. Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and Key/Critical Characteristics. Drive root cause analysis and supplier development activities. Develop dashboards, KPIs and predictive metrics to proactively identify supplier risk. Support APQP, PPAP, FMEA, process capability and process validation activities as appropriate. Support continuous improvement and the evolution of the Supplier Delegated Source Inspection Program. Travel to supplier locations as business needs require. What Success Looks Like Develop trusted relationships with strategic suppliers. Improve supplier performance through proactive engagement. Create meaningful supplier metrics and dashboards. Influence cross‑functional decisions through technical expertise. Contribute to an agile, scalable Quality organization. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience. Experience supporting supplier quality, manufacturing quality or regulated manufacturing environments. Working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Strong ownership, communication and project management skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel; Power BI or similar analytics tools are highly desirable. Preferred Qualifications Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC and Process Capability. AS9100 Lead Auditor certification. Lean Six Sigma certification. Experience supporting complex machining, electronics, composites or energetic materials suppliers. Pay Range 83400.00–155000.00 Export Control & Contract Requirement This position involves access to information, systems, technologies and/or hardware subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and other applicable U.S. Government export control laws.
