The Pavilion at Williamsburg Place is looking for a Unit Clerk to join our team!-$20-$23 Base Pay + Shift differentials -Full time Day shift-Complimentary Continued Education-$3000 per year Tuition Assistance-Benefits- Medical, Dental & Vision after 30 days-Flex Pay-Daily pay option-PTO package

Purpose Statement

The Unit Clerk performs a variety of secretarial and clerical support duties for the inpatient nursing unit. Ensures the timely, efficient, and organized flow of operations for the assigned nursing station/area. Responsibilities include maintenance of the medical records on the unit, general office management of files, ordering supplies, arranging internal consultations and transportation.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assembles and maintains patient charts for admissions, transfers, and discharges per facility policy.
• Answers phones in a professional and timely manner and directs calls to appropriate individuals and/or takes messages.
• Maintains patient records and administrative reports.
• Performs a variety of clerical duties relating to updating, organizing, and communicating information on a nursing unit.
• Coordinates administrative work within the unit as well as with other units and departments.
• Reports pertinent information in a timely manner to the immediate supervisor.
• Responds to inquiries and requests from staff and patients.
• Performs maintenance tasks relating to chart order, chart accuracy and chart current data.
• Organizes, monitors, stocks units with office and medical supplies and prepares requisitions to maintain established inventories, as required.
• Faxes and photocopies information, as needed.
• Delivers incoming and outgoing mail to the units and distributes announcements and posts memos.
• Obtains lab, x-ray and consult reports, as needed.
• Identifies and reports equipment or environmental problems promptly for correction.
• Assists in arranging patient consultations and transportation

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in healthcare setting preferred.
• Customer service and administrative/clerical skills required.

Licenses/Designations/Certifications

• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.

This position is onsite and is not a remote position.
