Group activities include responding to moderately complex requests for chemical analysis whether from the Manufacturing, Technical Services, R&D or from our customers. Develop and implement plans which outline action to support the achievement of defined department goals. Participates in and may manage projects and services with Manufacturing, Technical Services, R&D and other functions. Identify, recommend and participate in the implementation of innovative improvements to existing processes used to manufacture specialty steels. Coordinate project results at various stages and recommend and implement approved changes in direction. Communicate project results through detailed technical reports and memoranda. Maintain complete and accurate records, data books and other required documentation. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.Requires in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own function. Uses best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve processes, products or services. Solves moderately complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions. Works independently with minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; guides the work of other staff members. Ensures a safe workplace.
