Sales Development Representative (Entry Level)

Junior Prospector / SDR
Our client is an AI-powered manufacturing robotics startup, and they're hiring a Junior Prospector / SDR to be their first point of contact with the manufacturing world. If you're a hungry, persistent new grad who wants to build an outreach engine from the ground up, this is your chance. You'll find the right accounts, start the right conversations, and hand qualified leads to the product team as the company gets ready for its first-ever product launch.
Responsibilities:
- Build target account lists of machine shops, manufacturers, and hardware companies that could benefit from AI-powered CAD technology
- Write and send personalized outreach that earns first conversations with manufacturing customers
- Qualify interest and hand warm leads to the forward-deployed product and engineering team for demos
- Sync with the product team every week or two so your messaging always reflects the latest features
- Track everything in the CRM, test different messaging, see what works, and iterate
What We're Looking For
Must-have:
- A formal degree, ideally in a technical field. A humanities degree paired with real technical curiosity is also a strong fit, and there is no hard major requirement.
- Exceptional written communication. You can write short, specific, personalized emails that a busy engineer would actually answer.
- Curiosity, resilience, and persistence. You're comfortable with rejection and keep reaching out anyway.
- Enough technical literacy to understand the product and explain its value, even without a technical degree. This is a dealbreaker.
- Writing samples, such as a newsletter, blog, or other published work
- The ability to work fully in-person in San Francisco
Nice-to-have:
- Experience building processes at an early-stage company
- Familiarity with outbound tools like Apollo, Clay, Outreach, HubSpot, Salesforce, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator
- Exposure to manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or hardware, whether through an internship, family business, shop class, Formula SAE, robotics, or machining as a hobby
- Objectively impressive achievements in any domain, like building something unusual or winning something hard
