Job Summary The Health Care Associate II (Front Desk) at Client in San Jose acts as the primary point of contact for patients. This role manages clinic workflows, scheduling, patient registration, and insurance verification to ensure efficient operations across high-traffic community health clinics Key Responsibilities Patient Registration: Greet patients, register them for appointments, and accurately update demographic and insurance information in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system (often EPIC). Insurance Verification: Navigate health plan portals to verify eligibility and assist patients with qualifying for county programs and Sliding Fee Programs. Billing & Payments: Calculate visit charges, collect co-pays and payments, and reconcile daily receipts according to clinic protocols. Communication & Support: Manage busy multi-line phone systems, handle patient inquiries, and resolve EHR pool messages (e.g., patient requests/scheduling) within 24–48 hours. Operational Logistics: Assist with appointment scheduling and support various clinic service needs, including mobile clinic operations, outreach sites, or after-hours shifts if required Required Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Typically requires 1–2 years of experience working in a community-based health care or medical front office setting. Proficiency with computers and familiarity with EHR/medical information systems. Strong customer service, the ability to utilize de-escalation techniques, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment Education: High School
