POSITION SPECIFICS
The Cognition, Affect, and Temperament Laboratory, in the College of the Liberal Arts, headed by Dr. Koraly Pérez-Edgar, is seeking a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator Supervisor to work on the longitudinal NIDA-funded HEALthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) study.
This study focuses on pregnant people and their children in the areas of neurodevelopment, behavior, learning, environmental factors, substance exposure, and cognitive functioning.
In doing so, the lab incorporates several techniques, including EEG, MRI, developmental assessments, direct behavioral observations, biospecimen collections, and questionnaires.
This work will take advantage of the University's broad resources, including the Child Study Center and the Social, Life, and Engineering Sciences and Imaging (SLEIC) Center.
This is a two-site study in collaboration with Dr. Aleksandra Zgierska at Penn State's College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. As such, study personnel will have cross-site, virtual training opportunities
The Clinical Research Coordinator Supervisor has a vital role in this study by overseeing and conducting study operations, data management activities, participant engagement, and cross-site coordination. This includes supervising several full-time research employees.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage employee hiring, onboarding, and training of research staff; conduct performance reviews.
- Lead and organize meetings, such as those with project managers and weekly team meetings.
- Administer clinical assessments, neuropsychological testing, and other sensitive assessments (e.g., related to substance use and environmental factors). Refer participants to resources available in the community and social services.
- Proactively identify and coordinate opportunities for participant retention and communication.
- Responsible for site data management and reporting to HBCD administrative and data coordinating center. Maintain site compliance with research protocols.
- Assist with data collection and data transfer. Responsible for troubleshooting issues that arise in the research setting, including with MRI scanning.
- Act as liaison between site investigators, national HBCD administrative and data-coordination centers, and collaborating research sites.
- Coordinate training activities and site visits between Penn State University Park, Penn State College of Medicine, and other HBCD consortium locations.
Important Note : This position requires a flexible schedule to include working some evenings and weekends, primarily to accommodate the availability of participating families.
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to collaborate well with others
- Willingness to learn and develop computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other programs)
It is also strongly preferred that candidates have the following:
- Experience in a lab that conducts behavioral coding, neuroimaging, or eye-tracking studies
- Professional experience working with infants or children.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptedRequired Certifications:None
A degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Human Development and Family Studies, Social Work, or a related field will be considered a strong plus.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $59,580.00 - $86,400.00.
