Role Description - Senior Human Resources Generalist: Provides advanced professional level support to the VP of HR & IT in the functional areas of the Human Resources department. This hands-on role operates with a high degree of independence, managing multiple key HR functions including recruitment, benefit administration, leaves of absence including FMLA, employee relations, personnel records, performance evaluations, compensation management, policy implementation, employee handbook administration, compliance, and staff training. This is a critical role ensuring departmental compliance with policies and regulatory requirements while working to achieve Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan's overall goals and objectives through performance of the essential job duties. Qualifications: Current relevant experience is required in the following key HR functions: recruitment process, benefit administration, performance evaluations, FMLA, and employee handbook administration. Additional requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field and a minimum of 5 years' experience in an HR role, preferably as an HR Generalist or higher. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are a must. Superb accuracy, attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving abilities are essential for this position. Must have a professional demeanor, ability to handle sensitive and confidential information, and working knowledge of HR related laws, regulations and best practices. Highly proficient in Microsoft Suite applications. Other Details: Full time 40-hour position, with holidays and weekends off! This position requires in-office work but has the opportunity for a combination of in-office days and up to two remote workdays per week for the right candidate.
