School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | Algonquin, IllinoisStep into a rewarding opportunity supporting middle school students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a dynamic educational environment. This contract position offers hands-on experience working onsite with a manageable caseload, helping children enhance their independence, participation, and success in both general education co-taught and self-contained programs.Key Qualifications:Active Illinois COTA license requiredExperience in a school-based setting strongly preferredAbility to collaborate effectively with occupational therapists, teachers, and other support staffFlexibility in adapting strategies to meet a variety of student needsStrong communication skills with students, families, and colleaguesFamiliarity with IEP documentation and progress monitoringPrimary Responsibilities:Provide direct therapy services to a caseload of approximately 30 students in grades 6-8, adhering to individualized education plans (IEPs)Support students in general education as well as self-contained classes, adjusting interventions as appropriateAssist the supervising occupational therapist in developing activity plans and documenting student progressCollaborate with faculty and support teams to promote inclusion and maximize classroom participationMaintain all required documentation with accuracy and confidentialityContribute to team meetings, parent communications, and intervention planningPosition Details & Perks:Onsite, contract role with consistent daytime hours: 7:15 AM - 3:00 PM (32 hours per week)Competitive weekly compensationAccess to health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement planThis is your opportunity to make a significant impact on students lives while developing your professional skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.
