Job Title Post Doctoral Researcher Department Veterinary Medicine | Veterinary Biosciences Position Overview The College of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University is seeking applications for two Post Doctoral Researchers. The successful candidates will manage and execute research studies to produce a series of publishable contributions that answer important questions in the field of molecular biology of paramyxoviruses, pneumoviruses, and coronaviruses; represent a significant contribution to the validation or modification of scientific theory or methodology relating to the topic area; result in important scientific knowledge; and be definitive in a specific area of study. The candidates will also accomplish other duties as assigned. Responsibilities Manage and execute research studies in molecular biology of paramyxoviruses, pneumoviruses, and coronaviruses. Develop animal models to understand virology and virotherapy. Conduct experimental approaches to understand biology of coronaviruses, paramyxoviruses, and pneumoviruses, including vaccine candidates and therapeutics for infectious diseases. Fulfill other duties as assigned. Working Conditions This position involves experimental approaches to understanding the biology of coronaviruses, paramyxoviruses, and pneumoviruses, as well as understanding vaccine candidates and therapeutics for infectious diseases. It also involves developing animal models to understand virology and virotherapy. Minimum Qualifications Doctoral degree in virology, microbiology, epidemiology, infectious diseases, vaccinology, public health, biochemistry, veterinary sciences or other related fields. Desired Qualifications Doctoral degree in virology, veterinary science, vaccinology, epidemiology, or public health.
