Job Title: Manufacturing Associate Job Description

The Manufacturing Associate operates production equipment and performs hands-on manufacturing and assembly of clinical and commercial medical products in a regulated medical device environment. This role follows detailed blueprints, guidelines, and diagrams to ensure all products meet strict specifications and tolerance levels, while maintaining accurate production records and documenting activities in batch records and forms. The position involves working with chemicals, handling very small parts with precision, and consistently applying safety and quality procedures to support reliable, compliant production.

• Operate production equipment to manufacture and assemble clinical and commercial medical devices according to established procedures.
• Perform assembly processes for medical devices, ensuring all products meet specified quality and tolerance requirements.
• Follow blueprints, guidelines, and diagrams to complete assembly and manufacturing tasks accurately.
• Measure and prepare chemical solutions in accordance with safety and quality standards.
• Prepare assembly tooling and equipment for production activities.
• Clean and sterilize medical device components to maintain product quality and compliance.
• Complete weekly cleaning of the production area and equipment to support a safe and orderly work environment.
• Document all production activities in batch records and forms with accurate and legible entries.
• Maintain required records of production and promptly report any inconsistencies, deviations, or equipment issues following standard procedures.
• Apply safety procedures consistently when working with production equipment, chemicals, and small components.
• Handle very small parts with care, using fine motor skills and manual dexterity to ensure precise assembly.
• Collaborate with team members to support smooth production flow and help achieve daily and weekly output targets.
• Ask questions, think critically, and raise concerns when processes, materials, or equipment appear out of specification.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors regarding production status, issues, and opportunities for improvement.

• Hands-on manufacturing or laboratory experience in a regulated or scientific environment.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and accurately document work in batch records and forms.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure products meet strict specifications and tolerance levels.
• Ability to handle small components and perform precise assembly and laboratory procedures using fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety procedures when working with production equipment and chemicals.
• Familiarity with laboratory environments, aseptic technique, and basic laboratory practices.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage production tasks and documentation requirements.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and report issues or deviations clearly.
• Troubleshooting skills to identify, escalate, and help resolve process, material, or equipment concerns.

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
• Hands-on laboratory experience gained through industry roles, internships, academic research, or capstone projects.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment, test methods, and data collection processes.
• Ability to accurately record experimental and production results with legible, complete documentation.
• Curiosity and critical thinking skills to support process improvement and continuous learning.
• Interest in working within a small, start-up environment with opportunities for advancement and leadership.

This role is based in a collaborative R&D laboratory and manufacturing environment that supports innovative medical device development. The position combines laboratory experimentation, prototype assembly, testing, and technical documentation with hands-on production activities. Team members work closely with scientists and engineers on new product development initiatives, process improvement projects, and technology transfer activities. The environment emphasizes curiosity, critical thinking, scientific rigor, and continuous learning, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alameda, CA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Alameda,CA.
