Speech Language Pathologist

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Deer River Schools . In this position, you will work collaboratively with students, teachers, and families to assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders. Your expertise will play a crucial role in enhancing students’ speech and language skills, thereby supporting their academic and social success. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify speech and language disorders in students. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's needs. Provide direct therapy services to students in both one-on-one and group settings. Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Provide guidance and support to teachers regarding speech and language strategies in the classroom. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational goals. Stay current with research and best practices in speech-language pathology. Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies and state regulations. Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field. Requirements Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred. Experience working with school-aged children is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, families, and staff. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of current best practices in speech and language therapy. Proficient in using technology and software for assessment and documentation purposes.
