Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized assessments and clinical observation.
- Craft customized treatment plans that target immediate objectives as well as comprehensive communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions emphasizing language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
- Engage in collaborative care with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to establish cohesive treatment strategies.
- Provide education to patients and families to encourage progress outside of clinical sessions.
- Participate in the occasional inpatient evaluation and interventions in speech therapy, ensuring seamless care throughout the healing journey.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in alignment with state and federal regulations as well as organizational standards.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field via ongoing education and peer collaboration.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for a broad age range, with a solid grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Capacity to modify therapy approaches to align with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
