BookkeeperKids' Corps, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska, dedicated to providing a full Head Start to low-income families—from prenatal support through age five—using a comprehensive, two-generation approach to foster school readiness and family well-being. Founded in 1987 and funded as a Head Start grantee since 1990, we currently serve 187 children and families across multiple locations in Anchorage. Through our early education, health, and family engagement services, we prepare children for success while empowering parents and strengthening our community.Under the direction of the Accountant, the Bookkeeper supports the financial operations of Kids' Corps, Inc., helping to ensure accurate recordkeeping, compliance, and timely processing of transactions.Key responsibilities include:Processing and coding invoices; preparing payments to vendorsTracking and recording incoming payments, donations, and depositsAssisting with payroll, payroll deductions, and tax paymentsMaintaining up-to-date records for vendors, contracts, and insuranceSupporting financial reporting, audits, and grant documentationEnsuring proper documentation for all financial transactionsWorking with staff to track childcare billing and co-paymentsHelping with inventory and in-kind donation trackingThis position plays a key role in keeping our financial systems organized and compliant with Head Start regulations and internal policies.Position Overview:Role: BookkeeperLocation: Anchorage, AlaskaType: Full-time, non-exempt positionStarting Salary: Dependent on education level: High School Diploma/GED + 12 months of experience: $24.80Associate's degree: $27.29Bachelor's degree $30.01Benefits: Includes health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and moreQualifications:Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required with 12 months working in a similar positionExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work both collaboratively and independentlyPreferred- understanding of Head Start, and nonprofit organizationsJoin us at Kids' Corps, Inc. and embark on a rewarding career where you can help shape the future generation!
