Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Data Product Engineer to build, test, deploy, and support scalable data pipelines and data products on modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, and Azure. This role works within an engineering team to translate defined business and technical requirements into reliable solutions, apply established engineering standards, and contribute to production support and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Data Product Engineering

• Build and enhance data pipelines and data products using Snowflake and AWS and/or Azure services.
• Participate in the delivery lifecycle, including requirements clarification, component design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and optimization.
• Implement technical designs and reusable patterns defined by senior engineers or solution architects.
• Develop data transformations, ingestion processes, and orchestration workflows that meet functional and non-functional requirements.

Quality, Standards & Continuous Improvement

• Follow established coding, testing, security, data governance, and CI/CD standards.
• Write maintainable code and complete unit, integration, and data quality testing.
• Participate in code and design reviews and incorporate feedback into deliverables.
• Contribute ideas, reusable components, and small proof-of-concept efforts that improve quality, speed, or reliability.

Operational Excellence

• Monitor and support data products in production, troubleshoot issues, and complete root-cause analysis with guidance as needed.
• Implement logging, monitoring, alerting, lineage, and operational controls for assigned components.
• Maintain runbooks and technical documentation and participate in incident resolution and follow-up actions.
• Partner with platform and application teams to resolve environment, access, integration, and deployment issues.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work with business analysts, product owners, engineers, and platform teams to translate requirements into working solutions.
• Estimate assigned work, identify dependencies and risks, and provide clear status updates.
• Collaborate effectively in a global delivery model across time zones and cultures.
• Raise blockers early, respond constructively to feedback, and support shared team outcomes.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Five to seven years of statistical and/or data analytics experience
  
  

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including Snowflake SQL, data loading, data modeling, and basic performance tuning.
• Experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, or EMR and/or Azure services such as Data Factory, Synapse, or ADLS.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration workflows.
• Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of Python or a similar programming language.
• Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing.
• Understanding of data quality, security, governance, cataloging, and observability concepts.
• Familiarity with modern data architecture concepts such as cloud data platforms, Lakehouse, event-driven integration, or Data Mesh.

Location Expectations:
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00
