Florida Virtual School (FLVS) is seeking a certified Spanish instructor for its Flex High School program. Candidates must hold a valid teaching certification issued by the State of Florida in the designated content area. Job Summary Instructor provides an educational environment where students cultivate academic and personal growth through digital learning on FLVS's platform. Essential Position Functions Plan, prepare, and implement instructional activities that foster student engagement and meaningful learning. Select, create, and adapt instructional resources to meet diverse student backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. Assess and respond to evolving curricular needs, providing improvement plans. Maintain effective record‑keeping procedures. Create a positive learning environment that encourages active participation. Communicate proactively with students, parents, and internal or external professionals within established timelines. Collaborate with peers to enhance instructional quality via team teaching, meetings, staff development, communities of practice, and committees. Model professional and ethical standards in all interactions. Ensure continuous, appropriate student growth and achievement aligned with age group, subject area, or program classification. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with students, parents, schools, and colleagues measured through FLVS surveys. Meet specific course‑wide student performance goals and demonstrate gains in student performance. Participate in research, presentations, workshops, and community outreach related to online teaching. Engage in blended learning models, including online and classroom instruction, and may report to assigned schools. Assist with instructional tutoring as required. Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings, and demonstrating respect for others. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree. Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in Spanish or active enrollment in an approved EPI or MAT program plus a valid Statement of Eligibility or Temporary Certificate. At least three years of teaching experience (preferred). Operational knowledge of Internet and web technologies. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Collaborative teamwork skills and self‑motivation. Strong work ethic, prioritization, organization, and time‑management to meet aggressive deadlines. Proficiency in FLVS computer applications for efficient workflows and instructional practices.
