Mechanical Designer

Overview Mechanical Designer (Regular Full Time) Department: Mechanical Mericle Construction, Inc. is currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer for our growing, fast paced, design/build HVAC Division. Mericle Construction, Inc. is the largest, full-service developer of industrial, office, flex, and medical space along Pennsylvania's I-81 Corridor. Mericle has developed more than 100 buildings in the Scranton/Pittston/Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton area. The Mericle team includes licensed architects, land planners, professional engineers, surveyors, licensed electricians, plumbers, carpenters, leasing and marketing professionals, property managers, and more. Responsibilities Design HVAC systems for a variety of building types and participate in the design/build process. Prepare construction documents and shop drawings. Perform load calculations and duct sizing; specify equipment and interpret mechanical and energy codes. Proficient in coordinating with Project Managers and Field Personnel; ensure clear technical communication. Qualifications Proficient in AutoCad and Revit. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred, with minimum 3 years experience in commercial building systems design. Competent designing HVAC systems for a variety of building types. Capable of performing load calculations, duct sizing, specifying equipment, and interpreting mechanical and energy codes. Capable of preparing construction documents and shop drawings. Excellent verbal and written communications skills required for coordinating with Project Managers and Field Personnel. Must be highly motivated and have strong problem-solving abilities.
