Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical/Telemetry experience required License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum of 1 year of EPIC experience required - Must float to similar units as needed - Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse to work 3x12 hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. Floating to similar units is required as needed. The nurse must have experience with the Omnicell medication system. Candidates should have at least one year of experience in Medical/Surgical/Telemetry nursing. First-time travelers will be considered based on experience. Special procedures include post-heart catheterization and bedside procedures such as dialysis catheter management, thoracentesis, and incision and drainage. The daily census in the unit is approximately 30 patients. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics, with diagnosis primarily in general medical pre-and post-operative care. Support services available include IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. Travelers must have relevant skills such as managing ports, blood product administration, central line care, and starting and maintaining IVs, among others. Staff must float to other units as needed, depending on census and workload. Nurses will be required to complete pre-assignment testing and training modules as necessary.
