About the Position

Job Title: Step-Down Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years of recent Step-Down experience License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac monitoring Dysrhythmia interpretation IV/Vascular skills Blood product administration BiPAP/CPAP management Description: We are seeking a Step-Down Registered Nurse to join our team. The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Step-Down unit. The position is for a night shift, working three 12-hour shifts per week. The patient ratio will be 1:4-5. The unit serves adults and geriatric patients with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, post heart catheterization, and respiratory failure. Nurses will be responsible for post-heart catheter care and monitoring following vascular procedures. Candidates should possess strong skills in cardiac and emergency management. Responsibilities include medication administration, including emergency medications, and procedural sedation monitoring. Experience with blood product administration and cardiac drip titration is required. Professional skills required include infection prevention and phlebotomy. All candidates must be vaccinated for COVID-19 and the flu, with exemptions allowed for medical or religious reasons. Previous charge experience is preferred. Travelers will receive training on the electronic medical record system used in the unit.
