Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, cut, and chop ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats.
• Measure ingredients and seasonings for recipes.
• Prepare basic dishes, sauces, and salads.
• Label and store prepared ingredients properly.
• Set up and organize workstations for service.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of prep areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Assist line cooks during service as needed.
• Monitor inventory and restock supplies.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong knife skills and manual dexterity.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation (HACCP/ServSafe).
• Ability to work under pressure and follow instructions.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Physical stamina for long periods of standing and lifting.
• Basic cooking knowledge and attention to detail.

Typical Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (often preferred).
• Food handler's permit (sometimes required).
• Experience in a professional kitchen (helpful, but sometimes entry-level)
