About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for its Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a deep and hard-won expertise in defense, security, and geopolitics. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of national security, requiring an individual with the entrepreneurial energy to build and grow programs, the managerial instincts to lead a diverse and bipartisan team, and a strong commitment to working with a global community of partners and allies. The Vice President will be responsible for strategic planning, program design, and oversight, as well as managing the Center's finances and administrative obligations. Business development is a key aspect of the role, involving the expansion of the program's financial base and stewarding relationships with a wide range of donors. Candidates for the Vice President position should have a proven track record of leadership in a major national security organization or comparable policy enterprise, a strong global network of security and defense experts, and established credibility with bipartisan senior policymakers. The role demands a leader with a successful history in business development, including the ability to secure seven-figure, transformational funding. The ideal candidate will have superb interpersonal skills, the ability to manage and mentor a large team, and a demonstrated commitment to developing high-performing, inclusive teams. A Master's degree is required, with a preference for a Doctorate, and the candidate should be prepared to serve as a trusted advisor, represent the Center externally, and provide expert analysis to influence policy outcomes.
