Manufacturing Production Supervisor- 2nd Shift

• 2nd Shift – Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM, Mack Todd Road
• Interim/Temporary Assignment – Approximately 6–8 Weeks, with the possibility of contract to hire.
• Pay Range: $25.00–$28.00/hour, based on experience
• Experience working in the heat in a non-climate controlled environment

Position Summary

The Interim 2nd Shift Supervisor is responsible for providing day-to-day leadership and oversight of production operations during the second shift. This position coordinates and directs production employees to support safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.

The Interim 2nd Shift Supervisor will help ensure production schedules and customer requirements are met while maintaining company safety, quality, attendance, housekeeping, and work-rule expectations.

This is an interim/temporary assignment expected to last approximately 6–8 weeks. The assignment may be extended based on operational needs. This position is not intended to establish a permanent change to the Company's organizational structure or staffing.

The individual selected for this position may be required to train or work on first shift for a limited period as necessary to become familiar with Company processes, equipment, employees, and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and guide second-shift employees in a team-oriented environment while promoting safety, quality, productivity, and compliance with Company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate and direct daily production activities based on operational requirements and established production schedules.
• Review production requirements and assign employees to work areas and tasks based on staffing, skills, and operational needs.
• Monitor production throughout the shift to ensure established production goals, quality standards, and customer requirements are being met.
• Assist with machine and equipment setup and provide guidance to employees when needed.
• Monitor production processes involving thermoforming, fabrication, CNC, and other manufacturing operations.
• Inspect or review products and processes for quality and conformance to specifications.
• Work closely with Quality Control personnel to identify and address quality concerns.
• Review production paperwork, reports, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze production information and communicate significant issues, delays, quality concerns, staffing needs, or other operational matters to management.
• Work with team leads on training employees on job duties, production procedures, safety requirements, and applicable work instructions.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new employees and assign experienced employees to assist with training.
• Observe employee performance and provide coaching, direction, and feedback as appropriate.
• Address attendance, performance, conduct, and work-rule concerns in accordance with Company policies and direction from management/HR.
• Participate in employee performance evaluations and other performance-management activities as requested.
• Communicate staffing needs and operational concerns to management.
• Maintain a professional and respectful work environment and lead by example.
• Ensure employees follow all safety procedures and required personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Promote good housekeeping and ensure work areas are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Communicate effectively with employees, management, Quality Control, Maintenance, and other departments as necessary to support production.
• Follow all Company policies, procedures, safety rules, quality requirements, and work instructions.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on business and operational needs.

• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions.
• Basic computer skills and ability to complete production-related documentation.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Knowledge of injection molding, thermoforming, CNC, and fabrication preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate judgment when handling employee and business matters.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with management and other departments.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant manufacturing leadership experience may be considered.
• Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment required.
• Experience with injection molding, thermoforming, CNC, fabrication, or assembly is preferred.

Physical Requirements

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee may be required to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Move throughout the production area to observe operations and employee performance.
• Use hands and fingers to handle materials and equipment.
• Talk and listen effectively in a manufacturing environment.
• Frequently move between production areas and workstations.
• Occasionally lift or move items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
• Spend portions of the shift in an office or other designated area completing reports, documentation, and administrative duties.
• Perform duties requiring close vision, distance vision, and the ability to distinguish colors.

Work Environment

IThe employee will work primarily in a manufacturing production environment. Noise levels may range from moderate to high depending on the work area. The production environment may become hot during warmer months.

Required PPE in production areas includes safety glasses and hearing protection. Additional PPE may be required depending on the specific job duties, equipment, materials, and applicable Company safety requirements.

Employees are expected to follow all safety procedures and maintain appropriate hydration while working in the production environment
