Start date is negotiable with opportunities to work various sports camps on campus in June and July.This is a full time, 10-month position; Varies depending on workload and season, will include evenings, weekends, and overnight travel. Centre College is a DIII school with an athletics block scheduled from 4-7pm. You may indicate if you are interested in both positions.Essential Job FunctionsEvaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuriesProvides practice and competition coverage of assigned teams, and assists other teams as needed.Travel as needed with assigned teamsAppropriate use of therapeutic modalities, taping, and bracingProactive identification and management of concussions in conjunction with team physicianCompletes necessary documentation using Sportsware EMRCollaborates with strength and conditioning staff, team physician, student health, and all other members of health care team regarding student-athlete careClearly communicates with coaching staff regarding injuries and treatment plansMaintain CPR/First Aid for professional rescuer certificationRelates necessary sports medicine information to visiting institutions and athletic training staffDaily operation and maintenance of athletic training facilitiesAdministrative duties as assigned by Head Athletic TrainerAbides by rules set forth by both NCAA, state of Kentucky, and SAA conferenceMaintain continuing education according to the requirements of BOC and state of KentuckyDemonstrate an appreciation for and sensitivity to an inclusive academic community, fostering a welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff from all social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial, and ethnic backgroundsQualificationsMaster’s Degree preferred, Bachelor's degree required.BOC certification in good standingLicense from the Kentucky Board of Medical LicensureFirst Aid/CPR certification for the Professional RescuerNPI Number PreferredMust be able to pass a background checkExcellent verbal and written communication skillsEffective team playerAbility to react appropriately in emergency situations per state licensure guidelinesDecision-Making Skills: Ability to think critically and make independent decisions regarding assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and return to play decisionsAdditional certifications and skills, including but not limited to: Graston, ART, Cupping, Dry Needling, CSCS, CES, etc. are beneficialPhysical RequirementsModerate physical activity and standing or walking for several hours per dayLifting and handling of moderately heavy objects (water, ice-chests, etc.) is expected (25-40lbs)Centre provides a supportive, engaging setting where faculty and staff thrive as we advance our shared mission: preparing students for lives of learning, leadership, and service.
