Safety Coordinator

We are recruiting for a Safety Coordinator for a direct hire opportunity in Aguadilla, PR. This role supports safety and compliance activities within an active project environment, helping ensure safe work practices, OSHA compliance, and strong field-level safety performance. The Safety Coordinator will work closely with supervisors, contractors, and project teams to promote a proactive safety culture, identify potential risks, and support corrective actions that protect employees and operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement, monitor, and support site safety programs, policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives.
- Conduct daily safety inspections, identify hazards, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, employee training sessions, and ongoing safety communications.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses while assisting with root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
- Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, incident documentation, training logs, and compliance files.
- Coordinate safety activities with supervisors, contractors, and project personnel to ensure safe field operations.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary: $40,000 per year.

Additional Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills:
- 3-5 years of safety experience in construction, industrial, manufacturing, utilities, infrastructure, or a related project environment.
- Previous experience as a Safety Coordinator, Safety Specialist, Safety Technician, or similar safety-focused role.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, and field safety best practices.
- Experience identifying unsafe conditions and recommending practical corrective measures.
- Strong documentation, reporting, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a field or project environment while coordinating effectively with teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to proactive incident prevention.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience supporting contractor safety, project safety programs, or multi-trade field environments.
- Familiarity with PPE compliance, safety audits, and preventive safety program development.
