Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Sr. Executive Compensation Consultant for a senior-level hybrid consulting opportunity based in Chicago, Illinois. This role leads the design and implementation of executive compensation and total rewards solutions while managing client engagements, developing business, leading sales and nurturing senior client relationships.

The position works across executive compensation strategy, pay benchmarking, short- and long-term incentive plan design, pay strategy, pay structure modernization and broader total rewards issues. The consultant will serve as a trusted advisor to HR and business leadership while leading project teams and helping develop consulting talent.

COMPENSATION
• $91,000-$225,000
• Compensation is open and will be determined based on experience, skills and overall fit

WORK MODEL
• Hybrid
• Based in Chicago, IL
• At least 3 days per week in the office
• Clients may be located anywhere in the United States
• Some travel is expected and encouraged to support client engagements and relationship building

EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION & TOTAL REWARDS
• Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive executive compensation and total rewards programs
• Lead client engagements focused on executive compensation strategy
• Develop pay benchmarking strategies
• Design short- and long-term incentive plans
• Support overall pay strategy for executives and broader employee populations
• Lead pay structure modernization initiatives
• Provide expert advisory on executive pay considerations across various industries and ownership structures
• Help align compensation and rewards programs with business objectives and talent goals

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & SALES
• Develop and execute business development initiatives
• Lead sales activities and support growth of rewards consulting services
• Develop new client opportunities and strengthen existing relationships
• Manage client relationships throughout consulting engagements

CLIENT & PROJECT LEADERSHIP
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and business leadership teams
• Manage project delivery across multifaceted consulting engagements
• Oversee project teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality recommendations and presentations
• Collaborate across functions to develop integrated total rewards solutions for complex client needs

CONSULTING LEADERSHIP
• Monitor evolving market trends, regulatory changes and best practices in compensation and total rewards
• Mentor and develop consulting talent
• Foster continuous learning and consulting excellence
• Work effectively in an environment that embraces AI and technology-enabled tools

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree REQUIRED
• 15+ years of experience delivering executive compensation or total rewards solutions REQUIRED
• Ability to lead sales REQUIRED
• Ability to manage project delivery REQUIRED
• Ability to nurture client relationships REQUIRED
• Excellent communication skills REQUIRED
• Excellent presentation skills REQUIRED
• Excellent relationship-management skills REQUIRED
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule with at least 3 days per week in the office REQUIRED

PREFERRED / STANDOUT EXPERIENCE
• Demonstrated expertise in compensation program design for executives and/or broader employee populations
• Proven track record achieving sales goals and managing multifaceted projects
• Strong knowledge of regulatory and governance frameworks affecting compensation programs
• Experience with market-facing activities such as conference presentations
